This is one of the few places in the solar system where you can check out a class on the current slate of dwarf planets. Given the recent naming of three Kuiper Belt Objects, each sufficiently large to be considered a dwarf planet (Máni, Achlys, Aya), and the requests I have received from folks wanting to apply these bodies in charts, I conducted a Zoom interpretation class on the likely dwarf planets that I regularly apply.
This class from 30 July 2025 has a runtime of: 2 hours 17 minutes. Upon ordering, the class files will be sent to you via Hightail.com. Please download as swiftly as you can and save to your devices (computer, external drive).
Topics discussed include, but is not limited to:
What makes a dwarf planet?
Will there be more of these cosmic critters?
Really, should I used them in charts I consider?
How do I use them? Aren't they slow movers like Pluto?
The players to be discussed: Eris, Sedna, Haumea, Makemake, Gonggong, Orcus, Máni, Achlys, Aya, Ixion, Quaoar, Salacia. And for good measure, the centaurs Nessus and Hylonome will be included. The course will discuss individual interpretations referencing the body’s mythology, but primarily utilizing the objects’ north nodes and perihelion.
There is no requirement to have previously taken the KBGASP course. This course includes the mp3 recording of the Zoom, an updated listing of Centaur/Kuiper Belt Orbital Data and an updated document containing suggested interpretive keywords for these objects (positive, negative, mundane, ceremonial) as well as a new data sheet of likely dwarf planets and their moons. Following the class these items will be sent to you using Hightail.com. Please promptly download these files and save them to your computer. The course materials are for your use only and may not be shared in any form, replicated or otherwise transmitted.
