A good bit is being written on astrological blogs about Chiron’s recent entry into Pisces. True that, and there’s a good bit more joining this noble centaur for the ride. Two other slower moving bodies are in a pattern with Chiron and will remain so, within reasonable orbs, for the next two years! The intensity wavers a bit here and there, but the influence of this undercurrent of consciousness persistently stirs the pot of humanity toward what shall become a hopeful evolution upon the planet.
The players are Chiron in Pisces, dwarf planet 225088 (colloquially known as Snow White) also in Pisces, and Orcus in Virgo. Both Chiron and Orcus do change signs during the next two years, Chiron backing into Aquarius to bring Neptune back into the mix and Orcus dipping back into Leo these next few weeks for a short stint.
Since Snow White has no official name - and there seems to be no urgency on the part of astronomers to name this body - a mythology cannot be established to underscore its interpretation. Instead, we can extract some meaning from the placement of the body’s north node and perihelion. These are, from a heliocentric (Sun-centered) point of view, Pisces for the node and Libra for perihelion.
Optimistically, this Piscean node establishes the theme that we’re all people on this planet’s and in the global mix together, applying compassion and empathy to all. The Libra perihelion point demands that fairness and consideration be part of the octane of understanding and the willingness to be aware of alternate points of view. This combination stresses that solutions and remedies must advance global evolution and may not contribute to making difficult situations worse.
For instance here in Arizona, border violence stands as a major and growing concern. Presently the Governor is sitting on signing or not signing a bill supposedly written to alleviate immigration woes that many allege constitutes nothing short of racial profiling. The protesting of this bill is becoming increasing heated and volatile on both sides. Of course, Arizona is also on the verge of passing legislation that will demand that Barack Obama provide proof of U. S. Citizenship before being placed on the Arizona ballot in 2012 should he run for reelection. I guess it’s no wonder the four new coyote pups in the yard are hollowing at the heavens with such fervor every night. Seems they cannot understand why people continue buying ACME spring bounce sneakers given the long history of the product’s lack of reliability.
It’s really too bad that dwarf planet 225088, though the planet cannot provide proper namesake documentation to the Cosmic ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), will likely fall into the same category as other Kuiper Belt bodies: ignored by mainstream astrologers charged with the task of keeping humankind up to date with all new appearing, evolving hope for consciousness bodies in space. Anyway...
The Pisces-Libra theme is not limited to 225088. Chiron’s node and perihelion fall in Libra, thus assigning the task of healing wounds of personal acceptance to Chiron. Orcus reaches perihelion in Pisces and operates under a Sagittarian nodal theme. Orcus oversees oaths, ensuring they are upheld.
Since January, Jupiter in Pisces crossed the node of Snow White and the perihelion of Orcus. Have we seen the effects of compassion, inclusion, understanding and fairness spreading throughout the globe? If not, what can be done? One thing that occurs to me comes from the Sagittarian Node of Orcus, which aligns with the Galactic Center.
The Galactic Center brings about progress and evolution if one can include new, blazing brilliant ideas that lead humankind forward with solutions that have no side effects. To embrace such concepts, one must set aside preconceived notions that the new insights render obsolete. It is important that one refrain from positions of right and wrong. Einstein’s theory of relativity did not make Newton wrong; it did change the way gravity was considered, and gravity still works. If you ask any of the people slugging it out on Earth, it still appears that for every reaction there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Also per the Galactic Center, think critically and in a logically expansive manner. I was told the other day that all the artificial chemicals and additives to food and food substitutes are pure. After all, the contender contended, there is no such thing as an impure atom. Okay, I’ll give that point. It’s when atoms are combined into molecular compounds that one can make toxic substances ranging from sweeteners of questionable composition to the more honestly labeled compounds called rat poison.
The Galactic Center influence, which Saturn and Makemake now so urgently square, notes that any attachment to being right potentially impedes objective understanding. To support these two transits and the theme of the node of Orcus, consider all options. When an alternative presents itself, at least give it the number of nanoseconds required for the alternative to have been subject to full, conscious, complete objective consideration. Be fair to insights. Give them a chance to be comprehended.
An interesting effect of these patterns appears in the recent global mobility slowdown courtesy of the volcano in Iceland. Every person on Earth is affected by every event on Earth; what a perfect time to highlight this concept given today is Earth Day. Maybe you contend you didn’t notice the effects. How about the lack of certain varieties of fish (to keep the Pisces theme going) noticed in your local market? The impact of the volcanic ash to the economy will impact you... maybe in weeks, but it will. You’ll be affected by weather changes stimulated by the eruptions. Even if your personal travel plans were not affected, if you took the time to view the stunning photographs of the eruption, you were impacted. The Earth is a living, breathing entity and we are all subject to its actions. Doesn’t it make more sense to cooperate and get along? Wouldn’t doses of compassion, fairness and understanding go a long way? That’s what the Chiron, Orcus, 220588 pattern asks, at least.
Actually I did see one very positive effect involving Orcus and Pluto recently. Here are the two primary underworld dwarf planets in an ongoing trine. Pluto is associated with Plutonium and Uranium (the nuclear aspect of Uranium, at least). During this pattern, the United States and Russia came to an agreement (an Orcus style oath) regarding reducing the number of nuclear weapons. As well, leaders from around the world met and agreed to make conscious, intentional efforts to secure nuclear material that can be used for global destruction. As one who as a terrified child wondered if I’d make it to my 13th birthday one October so many years ago during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and one who worked with nuclear weapons during military service, I am encouraged by the realization of world leaders that nuclear weapons, if a necessary evil, can be used for evil purposes (bringing in the good for ya, bad for ya if too much theme of Chiron) and require more attention that they have been given. I know that’s a long sentence, but it’s Mercury retrograde.
I have a concluding thought or two, and to honor Mercury retrograde and before I forget, here they are in no apparent order...
The height of the travel snarl due to volcanic ash occurred as Ceto in Scorpio squared Mars in Leo. Ceto, according to the mythology, causes volcanoes to erupt and stimulates shaking below the surface of the earth, specifically related to volcanic activity.
Mercury and the Earth and the Sun align on the 28th, as they do during every Mercury retrograde. If you must sign a contract, come to major commerce related terms or need to untangle a communication mess, this day is a blue sky day amidst the churning clouds seemingly created by Mercury’s current and apparent reversal of course. And now back to our primary message.
Each of the bodies involved in this “minor” body long term pattern have something to say. Something like, but not limited to:
Chiron - compassion and empathy are signs of evolution, not weakness; feeling all feelings leads to awareness; darn your socks without darning those you think mean to sock it to you; adopt “go with the ebb and flow,”as a doctrine; sacrifice self-victimization; claim your presence on the planet.
Orcus - speak your truth and stick to it; affirm your intentions; keep an eye on the forest while worshiping trees; uphold your word.
220588 - be fair and just without sacrificing your mission, spirit or causes; work to understand that with which you disagree; find your team, tribe or clan and become a team, tribe or clan player.
We’re dealing with these patterns for two years. The results may not be immediate in the real world. However, personal shifts in consciousness that prescribe to the remedies of these solar system bodies can become immediately gratifying and uplifting.
