Pushing Rope ~ 11 May 2006

It’s not just me. I had to wait an extra day or two just to make sure. But golly geez, does it feel like pushing rope out there? Astrologers look at traditional astrology and see a grand water trine, offset on one side recently by the Sun and soon Mercury, making the energetic, creative and “get it flying good” kite pattern. It’s a head scratcher if you stay in that realm. But if you reach out beyond the previously known and into the grasp of the unfamiliar and recently realized, it starts to make some sense. Sure. Thanks. That helps a lot.

It helps. First you know there’s a reason - a really big reason - that things track as strangely as they do. Presently, the new Kuiper Belt/Oort Cloud object, Sedna, at 19 Taurus 27 recently endured the huge push of the largest body in the solar system, the Sun. Because the Sun is largest, it exerts the most massive gravitational influence and subsequently maintains the largest undisputed astrological significance. Fortunately, solar transits last only about five days total - figure it’s only one really intense work week long. Anyone can deal with that, right?

Complaints of incompetence on the part of others, inconsiderate and bad timing, failure to meet agreements and agreements with a sense of out and out betrayal mark the airwaves. It seems the universe has a lesson in mind: let go. Sure pal. Easy for you to type. You outta try being where I am. Actually, I am. I know the feeling, too. But what choice is there? You can fight against the flow, push a rope, force a stone up a steep mountainside Sisyphus-style or agree to go with the flow. While this might seem to be a less than ideal scenario or a tough message for those enduring the severe turbulence of life and maintaining a clear agenda, it could also be something of an insightful tool.

Mythologically, Sedna received her spiritual sanction when she reached the point in which she could no longer hold on. Sound familiar? Pretty much everywhere one goes, looks or is attempted, all those things one ardently seeks to clutch squirt right out from between their fingers. It could put one in mind of the tarot. In viewing the cards, and specifically within the suit of pentacles, which represent the nature of the material realm, all persons allowing the pentacles to rest easily on their hands seem pleased. Those clutching, controlling, throttling or squeezing the living goldness out of the orbs pretty much hold looks of discontent as indicated by frowns and if those persons could grimace under the pressure of holding so tightly, they would.

Here’s the big thought: what resolution, insight or revelation recently came to light - as symbolized by the Sun - that would not have occurred had life’s circumstances tracked precisely as you planned? When the hands of others and life’s flow appear on the table, it may be true that options that would not have occurred within your previous state of consciousness might have appeared. Given that, look for the new insight or direction into which setting your course produces better results that the way you were headed. Still hard to see? Give it a little time. By Sunday, Mercury catches up with Sedna. He’ll provide answers to questions just now surfacing. But wait, there’s more. A month later (June 15th) Venus aligns with Sedna bringing the relief of “oh my, if it had gone the way I wanted before, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”

In that last comment I didn’t mean to sound like the American baseball icon, Yogi Berra, who would utter things like, “When you get to the fork in the road, take it.” It’s just that even baseball has failed to provide me with the metaphors for life I so often glean from that sport. Still, it’s true. What we all seek right now comes from our current consciousness. If we included the inspiration of the Galactic/Super-Galactic center midpoints noted in the last Galactic Times, we would all aspire to greater things than what we had ever known. Next month, Venus reminds us that maybe even those desires fell short of the greatest plan coming our way. Wait! There’s more.

Virtually all year the inspiring Neptune deals with parting mists over the cold seas where Sedna once lived. Come October, the most fortuitous planet, Jupiter, focuses on the agenda of making beneficial, conscious choices shortly before the Sun opposes its current placement to Sedna. And all next year, the grounding, manifesting, “I’ll make that happen if you’re willing to sweat profusely” Saturn, comes to bat.

So, says Sedna, “If you’re not happy with life, start making conscious choices with the circumstances the Universe provides. Deal with the hand you’ve been dealt and stop pushing the rope.” Finally, when dealing with the emotional backlog stirred, take note from the radio blast recently received (May 10th) from the amazing black hole system, Cygnus X-3 (28 Aq 36). Allow 4.8 hours, it’s intrinsic orbital period, to let reactions form, reach a crescendo, chill and process.
