Oh, That Again ~ 14 September 2006

It’s (insert singsong voice over from Poltergeist) back! Indeed, we are now officially back in the throws of a fixed grand cross, much as we were late last year and early this year during the forever lasting (or so it seemed) transit of Mars in Taurus. But wait! Mars is not in Taurus anymore and according to the listing of usual planetary suspects, neither is anything else. See that’s what we get with the leveling of the Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud playing fields: Sedna in Taurus, where’s she going to be for quite some time to come. The rest of the players are Saturn and 55565 (probably a dwarf planet) in Leo, Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Aquarius. We’ve visited about this before, but let’s square it away once and for all before Venus and Mars enter the mix to personalize things starting in early November. Thankfully, at that time Jupiter will be out of orb of the grand square and only squaring the Trans-Neptunian Object, Orcus.

Here we go:

Sedna in Taurus - Make conscious choices especially regarding career and matters of money and the consciousness surrounding materialism. Choose well, remembering you can’t take it with you. What is the right choice between stuff and spirit? Can a body have both? Can a soul have both?

Saturn and 55565 in Leo - Saturn says forget about your pride and just put your nose to the grind stone. If you muff a play in the outfield or mess something up, don’t look at your glove or swear at your computer. Inert things do not get to tamper with the value your psyche attaches to your ego and soul. As for 55565, learn to use life’s alchemy. Ignore nothing that might be contributive (but avoid being a pack rat, too). See if you can find the magic in being all of what or whom you are.

Jupiter in Scorpio - Use Scorpio’s only way consciousness. The only way to get what you want out of life is to follow all visions of greatness with unlimited gusto and unabated passion. Certainly, there can be no questions about that.

Neptune in Aquarius - Let’s say you go to batting practice (yes, like I do) at major league baseball games and you stand where the practice home runs get hit. You know the balls land in one of four possible sections. Where do you stand? You have to trust your instincts, shifting with the energy change each batter brings to the plate and avoid the body checking throngs. Does it work? I have two balls next to me on my desk that say, “Yes.” Of course you have to catch the ball. Picking up a ball out of a chaotic scramble means nothing.

The package comes together rather tidily and less stressfully than it did during the Mars in Taurus era. Tune in now and avoid the rush. When Venus and Mars match wits in Scorpio come November, those bodies (and souls) lagging behind will be scrambling for scraps. Where’s the dignity in that?

Meanwhile, no commentary can be complete these days without something about Pluto. You know, it’s all about giving the other bodies as much consideration as we have to Pluto for eighty-six years (86 on Pluto!). In doing so, there’s no attenuation of Pluto’s influences whatsoever. I do find it amusing that as much as astrologers and clients grumble about the soulful severity and dramatic despair of Pluto transits, they all want it back. Anyway, the astronomers assigned Pluto a minor planet number last week. Yep, a minor planet number. It’s number:134340. If you’re thinking, “Shouldn’t it really be number one?” the answer is no. That belongs to Ceres. Actually, Pluto was the 1,165th minor planet discovered, though it missed that number due to the planet status hubbub of 1930 (the year).

Two other number/name notes about the new bodies: Rumor is, naming for 136199, formerly known as 2003 UB313 will happen soon; and yep, that’s a different number than I typed in the last GT. 136199 is the correct number. It’s like when I was doing 75 in a 65 zone on the 101, then the 202... just too many numbers and speed loses synch with life and my flying, typing fool fingers. Yep, it was my fingers, not the computer keyboard. There’s nothing wrong with my baseball glove either.

Reports circulating this morning on the Internet report that 136199 received the name Eris and her moon shall be called Dysnomia, who was the daughter of Eris and spirit of lawlessness. Eris sparked a fight between goddesses that sparked the Trojan War. While these reports come frim reliable news sources, none of the minor planet sites I visit have the new information yet posted. I'll refrain from speculating on the myth until next week.

Finally in the Kuiper Belt “hmm” category, Steve Irwin, croc hunter, was killed during a Venus to Orcus conjunction, which was spot on his natal Uranus. True, Uranus is a generational or socially conscious planet - just look at the wave of press, controversy and dead stingrays that followed.
