Holiday Happenings ~ 16 December 2005

A special note of apology to all those receiving the Galactic Times by e-mail. My e-mail campaign manager suddenly malfunctioned and we cannot figure out why. If it does not fix up soon, I’ll be changing services rather quickly to attempt getting back on schedule. My apologies again and please continue to visit this page on my website during this time of mild chaos for the Galactic Times. Oh, and how cool is this, my short story book, Glimpses, is in stock!

Wow! What a blitz! Today the Minor Planet Center posted names for two new centaurs: Amycus and Crantor. Amycus (no, not the Harry Potter one) was a noted boxer who died in the ring. Maybe this is noteworthy as a reasonably young wrestler recently and unexpectedly died as well as the other wrestling/boxing deaths appearing on sports wires in recent months. Crantor, a philosopher of the Old Academy, paid heaps of attention to ethics and life’s good things in the following order: virtue, health, pleasure and riches. Hmm, sounds like the priorities of the agenda set forth by the current administration of the United States. Certainly, it’s a statement of claims made by those aspiring for success and justifying whatever means may be required to get there. My problem with the namings is that neither of these names refer to centaurs. There are plenty of good centaur names remaining. Evidently the astronomers are having some difficulty reconciling the bad boy/bad girl natures of the remaining centaurs. That to me reeks of today’s society, especially with Jupiter in Scorpio. Though high moral fiber claims run the show, porn tops most industries: Internet, hand held devices, iPods, phone line services and film. These two factors do not equate. I maintain that we should use up all the centaur names first and not candy coat the mythology of our solar system. I’m going to be writing those guys, you can be sure.

Technical notation for those who have purchased the Galactic Trilogy CD. You already possess an ephemeris for Amycus and Crantor. These are noted as 55576 and 83982 in the Centaur Ephemeris. As of this week, I’ll put the current positions on the New Planet, Sedna and Centaurs page.

Meanwhile, a new hard X-Ray transient appeared in Andromeda. This source is in the Cassiopeia A region (a noted black hole) and resides at 28 Taurus 09. Many will jump on the fact that the late Taurus degree is the Pleiades. Not so fast. Two of the Pleiadian stars now reside in Gemini and the asterism precesses out of the 28 Taurus realm. So, let’s use this X-Ray transient for a clear look at what we derive from the Pleiades. I know many channels track entities of this location. But if our astrology refers to this as the weeping sisters, why are we going there other than for grief counseling? And now we have Crantor, who wrote a brilliant treatise on grief in a letter to Hippocles upon the death of his children. I’ve heard from a channel that the Andromedeans think the Pleiadeans are dyslexic and the Cassiopeans, where this X-Ray source originates, believe both the previous constellational societies to be a few stars short of a full constellation. I think the X-Rays stand to blast us with some good, temporary insights that offer transitional antidotes for the “good thing” known as riches according to Crantor. Regardless of politicians, how about we create a global economy that works and a world where no one suffers for life’s necessities? That seems to be that unfolding agenda. All those with a plan, step forward.

And back on the Sagittarian ranch, the black hole/micro quasar 4U 1630-47 started an apparent outburst phase. Pretty much we have to give such eruptions proper never mind as the black hole is not just acting up... it’s opening an awareness into a new dimension. This black hole stands at 14 Sagittarius 06, aligned in longitude with the Great Attractor. The Great Attractor plays a “which hand” game, allowing for a glimpse of what’s hidden behind the back. The 4U 1630-47 offers a “take your pick” game regarding physical senses. Don Juan, the nagual of Castaneda fame, pushed his apprentice to incorporate all senses into a full package of perception. The drill involved becoming less visually dependent. Ironically, two new “centaurs,” creatures of impeccable “sense”ability now appear for our consideration.

Jupiter in Scorpio backs all this up. Feel and perceive everything. Deny nothing. Next thing you know your holiday happenings will be more happening than ever before. Get involved with your senses, sensibilities and life’s good things. The Crantor Lodge is now open for retreat and reflection.
